The Walnut Creek Tennis Center, located in Heather Farm Park, provides a full service
tennis program. This includes an exciting pro-shop stocked with the latest tennis
fashions. Services offered include an excellent racquet demonstration program, guaranteed
one-day stringing, a variety of lessons and programs for adults and juniors. All products

Memberships
The City of Walnut Creek maintains tennis courts at Heather Farm Park and six satellite
community courts (Larkey Park, Rudgear Park, Civic Center, Arbolado Park and Northgate
High School) with the help of user fees. Each person using the courts at Heather Farm Park
must either pay a daily fee or buy an annual use card.
Advance Court
Reservations
Phone reservations may be made up to 7 days in advance by calling the Tennis Center
during Pro Shop hours. An hourly reservation fee will be charged. To reserve courts at
Heather Farm or any of the satellite courts, call 945-0105.
Lessons
Individual and group lessons are available for all ages and playing levels. Group
lessons (six 1- hour lessons once/week @ $55) for the following levels will be offered in
the fall program.
Class descriptions and prerequisites:

BEGINNING
Little or no previous instruction. Includes forehand, backhand and serve.

ADVANCED BEGINNING
Previous instruction or equivalent experience includes groundstroke
drills, volley, overhead, serve and basic strategy.

INTERMEDIATE
Graduate of advanced beginning course or equivalent experience. Includes
serve and volley, spin serve, approach shots, introduction to doubles strategy.
The Tennis Center also offers tennis clinics for all NTRP ratings from 2.0 to 5.0
players. These clinics are designed to sharpen your tennis skills for the coming USTA

PEE WEE TENNIS
Pee Wee Tennis is designed to introduce 4- to 7- year-olds to the game of tennis in a
fun and relaxing way. This junior tennis program is designed to give children a greater
sense of confidence and make tennis more manageable for young players. All equipment
except racquets is provided. Call the Tennis Center for dates and times.

JUNIOR TENNIS LEAGUE
The Tennis Center offers a year-round junior tennis program which includes tennis
instruction, clinics, leagues, camps, Junior Development and Junior Excellence Programs.

JUNIOR EASTER CAMP
The Walnut Creek Tennis Center is offering a camp over the Easter holiday this year.
Dates are Monday, April 7 through Thursday, April 10, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm each day. Half day
camp is also offered 9:00 am - 12:00 pm (no lunch included).

The Tennis Center will offer many new and innovative tennis programs starting this

TENNIS CLUB
The City co-sponsored Racquet Club offers year-round activities for adults including
monthly social mixed-doubles tournaments; two Club Championship events; USTA/NCTA Leagues
for men, women and mixed-doubles teams; women's ladders; women's interclub leagues; and
two Club parties.
Joining the Walnut Creek Racquet Club is an excellent way to take advantage of the
City's exciting tennis program and develop new tennis friends. This is a non-profit club
supervised by a volunteer board. Walnut Creek residents may join at any time. For more
