On a regular modem, the World Wide Web is so slow it's known as the World Wide Wait. With
high speed access the Web becomes a thing of beauty. The Internet to your home computer up
to 100 times faster than a standard 28.8 dial-up modem, and 15 times faster than an ISDN
line.
The news you want when you want it. View CNN video clips, watch movie trailers, check
out sports highlights, play online games, catch up on the latest from Wall Street with
Bloomberg financial updates, or simply surf the Web...fast, very fast. The fastest ride on
the Web.
@Home takes only 7 seconds to download a 900kb file, while it takes a 28.8 dial-up
modem over four minutes!

"...By the way, the cable modem is *blazingly* fast. I just did a
2-meg download in a few seconds. That used to be over an hour's wait." |

How does it work? It is connected to your personal computer through your cable TV wire.
The same cable line that provides dozens of channels to your television can also send data
back and forth between your personal computer and the Internet. This technology is
referred to as broadband technology, and transmits data at speeds up to 100 times
faster than a standard 28.8 Kbps telephone modem. Typically operating at speeds in the
range of 1,500 to 3,000 Kbps. What this means for you is fast, unlimited access.
